Councillors are fighting to keep a police station in Cross Hills, near Skipton.
North Yorkshire Police Authority is considering closing four stations also including Settle as part of a rationalisation plan.
North Yorkshire Councillor Mark Wheeler has sought an assurance from the police authority chairman, Jane Kenyon, that Cross Hills police station in Wheatlands Lane.
“She told me that she could not give that assurance,” he said. “It seems our community is about to take another hit. First a reduction in our bus service, then post offices, and now our police stations may go the same way. Surely enough is enough.”
Coun Wheeler said he wanted the issue discussed at the next Craven Area Committee meeting which will be held on Thursday, August 28.
