Tribute to Bradford City fire dead

The 56 people who lost their lives in the Bradford City Football Club fire disaster were remembered at a memorial service.
Hundreds gathered at the Memorial Sculpture in Centenary Square today, 23 years after the disastrous fire at the match against Lincoln City on May 11, 1985. Flags flew at half mast as the Lord Mayor of Bradford, Councillor Robin Owens, the Mayor of Lincoln and a civic party from Lincoln paid their respects to those killed and injured, and to their families.
The Dean of Bradford Cathedral, Dr David Ison, led the service. He said: "Twenty three years ago 56 people died, hundreds of people were injured, thousands of people were left shocked and a city was in mourning because of the events that happened at Valley Parade."
After the City Hall's bells struck 11am, recordings of You'll Never Walk Alone and Abide With Me were played.
The service included prayers, a minute's silence and the laying of wreaths.

That day was my Auntie's wedding, so fate had intervened and saved my Dad from going to the game. It could have all been very differnent.
God bless those who were not so lucky to have their loved ones return.

I'll openly admit though that, the guy that played Abide With Me on the trumpet at the end, that made a fitting tribute.
Dunno maybe I'm one of these that don't like change, but I'll always remember that fateful day, I witnessed it first hand
