A NEW barber shop in Bradford is to offer free haircuts to homeless people tonight.
Damaz Trimz, on Mannville Terrace in the city centre, only opened a couple of months ago.
Owner Umar Hayat is already keen to give back to the community by putting on the thoughtful scheme.
He has spoken to the Bradford Central Foodbank and asked them to refer people in need to his shop.
Umar is expecting to put his clippers to good use this evening at 8pm.
Speaking to the Telegraph & Argus, he said: "I have seen a lot of homeless people who can't afford a haircut so I wanted to give back to the community.
"The Bradford foodbank is referring people to me.
"I also offer a 10 per cent discount to all NHS workers."
Damaz Trimz, which employs three people, is enjoying a successful first few months, according to its owner.
The slogan for the shop reads: 'You have tried the rest, now try the best in Bradford'.
"We are just newly open," added Umar.
"I have been running the shop for two months now. It is my first shop.
"Business has been good, we have been busy."
