Detectives are investigating two robbery incidents in Manningham, Bradford, in which the suspects claimed to be policemen.
The victim in the first incident, an eastern European man, had his wallet and mobile phone stolen when he was stopped and searched by an Asian man who said he was a police officer.
The incident happened in Parkfield Road at 8.30pm last Thursday.
The suspect is described as aged about 20, slim, 5ft 10ins tall, with crew-cut black hair. He was wearing a shiny yellow chain round his neck, white T-shirt, dark jacket, dark blue jeans or trousers and white trainers.
The second incident happened two days later at 2.30pm at the junction of Manningham Lane and Mornington Villas.
A 21-year-old man heard two men behind him shout: “Stop, we are police!” He was then grabbed by one of the men and was told they had a knife and that he was going to be searched. The man shouted out and the two suspects ran off empty handed.
The first suspect is described as an Asian male, 20 years old, 5ft 8ins tall, skinny, with short black hair and a short black beard. He was wearing a white short sleeved T-shirt and dark trousers. He spoke in broken English.
The second man was also Asian, 20 years old, 5ft 8 ins tall, skinny, with short black hair and clean shaven. He was wearing a white short sleeved T-shirt and dark trousers.
Police are investigating links between the two offences.
