A new campaign has been launched to clean up “grot spot” areas of Shipley blighted by dumped rubbish.
Residents, councillors and community groups have been invited to nominate areas to be targeted by the Shipley Smart and Clean Campaign.
The major clean-up will include clearing and making minor structural repairs to ginnels, unadopted back streets, grass verges and waste ground.
Small-scale highways work, such as filling in potholes will also be carried out by Bradford Council’s Street Scene and Highways officers.
The effort follows a successful Shipley Big Spring Clean, which saw more than 120 “grot spots” cleaned in Baildon, Bingley and the surrounding areas, Shipley, Wharfedale, Windhill and Wrose.
A plan of work will for the Smart and Clean campaign will be agreed in October and the work will be carried out by April 2009.
To nominate a “grot spot” contact the Shipley Area Coordinators’ Office on (01274) 437146 or visit Bradford. gov.uk/shipleysmartclean.
