All past and present members of East Bradford CC’s Kids Saturday Bike Club are invited to attend a tenth anniversary celebration at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre cycle track on Saturday, July 19.
Sports Minister Gerry Sutcliffe (Bradford South) will be guest of honour.
Members have won multiple regional and national medals in cyclo-cross, mountain biking, circuit races and time trial, hard and grass track, hill climbs and roller racing and the club have a reputation as one of the most successful children’s cycling clubs in the country.
Over 150 children have binned their stabilisers at Richard Dunn’s and nearly 1,000 have earned their British Schools Cycling Association Trix Awards.
They have gone on family rides and Youth Hostel weekends, ridden the 70-mile Great Yorkshire Bike Ride from Wetherby to Filey, cycled up La Marmotte, one of the great climbs in the Tour de France and generally had as much fun as it’s possible to have on two, pedal-powered wheels.
