Farsley Celtic 0, Port Vale 0

Port Vale brought a strong squad to mark the return of manager Lee Sinnott to Throstle Nest but there were no goals in tonight's pre-season friendly.

Sinnott fielded a first team before the break but changed all 11 players during the interval.

The Celts created the first chance in the opening minute, Andy Watson heading over from a Dominic Krief cross.

Then midway through the half, Watson beat onrushing goalkeeper Joe Anyon, only for Jamie Walshaw's shot to be blocked by Sam Stokesley.

A 30-yard free-kick from Simeon Bambrook flew just over the Valiants' bar in the 36th minute as Farsley continued to press, while the visitors' best chance came two minutes before the break, Marc Richard's shot being blocked by Amjad Iqbal.

The only opprtunity of note in the second half came when Farsley keeper Chris Backhouse was caught on the edge of his area, Dan Glover's shot being stopped by Tom Harbin.
