Michael Boulding cut through the euphoria of City’s incredible win at Accrington and declared: That wasn’t good enough.

Boulding sparked an amazing comeback with the first of three goals in a blistering last ten minutes as the Bantams came from two down to grab their first win in October for three years.

Once Baz scored, I asked the ref how long to go and when he said six minutes then I knew there was enough time to get a winner

With other results going well, the victory lifted City back up to third and within three points of top dogs Wycombe.

But Boulding admitted the team needed to be a lot more convincing to back up their promotion credentials.

He said: “We got out of jail. It’s a great three points but we know it’s got to be a lot better than that.

“I thought we were really good early on but after their first goal we seemed to go, which isn’t right. Our form dipped a little bit and we can’t allow that to happen.

“Good teams keep plugging away. It’s natural if the crowd get frustrated but you’ve got to be strong enough to play through that.

“But once we score, we look a different team. Once we get motoring and putting pressure on teams, we’ve got players who can score and create goals.

“Peter Thorne, Baz (Barry Conlon) and I are all good goalscorers. If we get the chances we’ll put them away more times than not.”

All three strikers netted in City’s best fightback since overhauling a two-goal deficit to beat Gillingham 4-2 in August 2006. It was Boulding’s fourth goal for the club he joined in the summer.

He added: “I’ve been a little bit frustrated that I’ve not been getting as many chances as I would have liked. But I had a few on Saturday and I was confident that one would fall right for me.

“We got the momentum from that and it was a different game. Once Baz scored, I asked the ref how long to go and when he said six minutes then I knew there was enough time to get a winner.

“And luckily the ball dropped to the person on the pitch that you want it to, Thorney, and he tucked it away. We’ve won every game when Thorney and I have both scored.”

Conlon, who came off the bench to score for the second week running, said: “As soon as the first goal went in, you could see all the lads rushing to get the ball back. We knew we could get something from the game.

“It’s been an eventful week for me but it’s a great way to finish. We’ll take loads of confidence from that win.”

Relieved boss Stuart McCall paid tribute to his frontmen for saving the day.

He said: “You’ve always got a chances when you’ve got goalscorers on the pitch like that. They were three fantastic goals.”

Amazing that City have let in 13 goals, wonder what we would be like if Darren Moore had signed up?
Anyway i like that we had fighting abilities within the squad to never say DIE!..
Was informed the off-side flag got stuck up the linesmans bum for one of their goals, but i guess we may get the lucky call too one day.

Other than that Gillingham will be an interesting match seeing as though they just banged in 5.
Be happy with a clean sheet for this one.

Skippy go to Nix back in the Mix and reply, if you can.

Yes for all of us who went to Accrington, the final score looked wholly improbable with 10 minutes to go. In some ways I believe that it is the midfield who have to take control of the game, keep osession and create good chances rather than a long ball over the top.

It looks like most of the players have a bad habit of under-performing, when we play at home the players dont want the ball and when they get it they dont know what to do with it so they give it back to the other team, its like they are playin with fear, where as they should be relishing playing in front of 12 to 14.000 fans, i hope the team start to pick up on form and go on a 15 game unbeaten run.

Breaking news. In a sensational deal, Found Wan*ing is to be the new City shirt sponor. From next season "Bradford and Bingley" will be replaced by "Bitter and Twisted". Mr Wan*ing said "In view of my unhealthy obsession with City and my fervent wish that they fail I feel this phrase best expresses my attitude to life in general and the club in particular".

TOM fLOCKETT now there's a name to conjure with just as MITCHELL DOWNIE AND GEORGE MULHOLLAND were too.

Simply put:Leftwan* king isan ex employee who was sacked when teh club did a cull of its ticket office following the grat season ticket response. Hence his bitterness and constant carping. He just cannot get over it. Those who lose their jobs move on but this guy. For him it was just another rejection/ejection and one which he can not move from his brain. It is and it will continue to eat away at his tiny brain unil............kapp
ut! his mind goes completely. HOWEVER maybe he has reached that position already.

Must be the kids programme. If it was aimed at us, it would be 'lazy-city', NOT Town! LOL

Oh sh!t. My security words are 'baby-fine'. I thought she was fitted with a plug?

skippy you complain about the performances this season yet we are third after 10 games with 19 points by beening poor in your eyes but all teams have blips during the season but if we keep on that ratio till end of season that will see us finish with around 86 points and that would be good enough for promotion

Ricky:you miss the point.

Skippy with his wordly knowlegde of all matters football and WJ WILL NEVER be happy. He could never be satisfied, as others clearly are and have been, with a team playing badly and nicking the points to get into a promotion position.

What does he think is realistic: 10 played:10 won:50 for and none against.

Any set back, any poor performance of the team is down to just one person.

I agree with you 3rd place with 19 points when we have not played to our best in around half of those gamnes should not be sniffed at!

Got out of jail but won. They played until the last minute and got 3 points. Then McCall slates them on the radio. Good on you McNone. The bloke is not fit for Sunday league. You do not slate your own team like that and expect them to play well for you.
Average coach and looking at some of the comments on here average supporters. CITY WILL NOT BE PROMOTED THIS YEAR.

McCall has to play to the fans as they pay his wages and he realises that he has a lot of fools who go along with anything. Big changes to come, very big. All note now some 4 WEEKS since anything from the Top Two.Why very quiet. No doubt front man on the site, tyker, will have a positive view.
