The Cougars aren’t going to let Challenge Cup mania interfere with their final league match of the season.
They head to London Skolars, who have arranged tomorrow night’s fixture hoping to join the bandwagon on the eve of the Wembley showpiece.
National League Two strugglers London are expecting a record crowd of more than 2,000, having laid on a real ale festival and giant barbecue in a bid to attract all the rugby league fans travelling south this weekend.
But Keighley boss Barry Eaton is simply intent on seeing his side get three points and rediscovering some zip.
Doncaster’s win over Barrow on Wednesday means Ellery Hanley’s team are almost certain to sneak fourth place and Eaton admitted: “It’s highly likely we’ll finish fifth now regardless off what happens tomorrow night.
“So, we’re not going to get the first week off in the play-offs and we must improve our form to carry on our season as long as we can.
“We’re not going to get to a Grand Final or win it the way we’ve been playing so we’re looking to sort that out in London by getting the performance right.
“There’s going to be a big event going off down there while we’ll be going to the Challenge Cup final as a squad on Saturday as well.
“But first we’re concentrating on ourselves tonight.”
Eaton saw his side stutter to victory over bottom-of-the-table Hunslet last weekend.
He will give late checks to Ollie Pursglove and Scott Law but half-back Jon Presley will definitely play after missing the last few games with injury.
Doncaster, meanwhile, are ahead on points difference and have their final game of the regular campaign at home to Hunslet on Sunday.
