Wibsey notched a deserved 31-13 win over Rossington Hornets at Beldon Lane in Yorkshire 5B.

Playing up the slope in the first half, they restricted the visitors to two penalties.

The Hornets scrum half was sent off and the Villagers made the most of the advantage despite conceding an early try after the break.

Scott Smith crossed the line for three tries and Chris Paine scored the try of the match after the ball passed through the entire backline.

Dan Frost completed the scoring following good work by Martin Orchard.

All Wibsey’s tries were scored wide out, which made Simon Birkbeck’s three conversions all the more impressive.
