Former Bradford & Bingley and Keighley winger Asa Firth is a winner in the Emirates Airline Dubai Sevens.

Firth, who teaches at an international primary school out there, scored the opening try to help Dubai Dragons’ first team defeat Dubai Exiles’ first team 41-12 in the final of the Gulf Men’s category, which was watched by 55,000.

“He’s been out there for two years now,” said Asa’s dad Gary. “He had a serious injury while with Keighley but now says he is playing some of his best rugby ever at the age of 32.”
