Baildon bounced back from the previous week’s defeat to Barnsley with a 14-13 win at relegated Goole.
In the first 20 minutes Baildon were all over the home side even though Goole’s large pack starved Baildons backs of the ball.
Flanker Brook scored for the visitors and a quarter of an hour later Nick Lister slotted the penalty awarded after Goole’s full back was yellow-carded.
The hosts replied with a Stoakes penalty and converted try but Lister gave the visitors a half-time 11-10 lead with an injury-time penalty.
In the second half, Stoakes quickly renewed the home side advantage with a penalty. In the dying seconds of the game with Goole leading 13-11, Lister took advantage of Goole’s mistakes with a three-pointer to clinch the narrowest of victories.
