There will be a feast of football around the area on the non-league scene this coming season, and tomorrow should be a perfect taster.
The main contenders remain Bradford Park Avenue, Farsley Celtic and Guiseley.
The pretenders are Thackley, Eccleshill United, Liversedge and Silsden, and featuring on the undercard are two teams hoping to pack a punch.
The phoenix rising from the ashes of the fallen giants of The Shay, now called FC Halifax Town, are joined by the new kids on the block – Brighouse Town.
With starts to their various leagues staggered, all nine clubs are making the most of their final Saturday by fixing up realistic matches.
Avenue, promoted to the UniBond Premier Division last season after winning the Division One North championship, make a short journey over the Pennines to take on Clitheroe, who were divisional rivals last term.
Avenue boss Dave Cameron said: “Lots of our players are in fine form and wanting even more match-time.
"I may have a trialist in the squad – he was down to play against Farsley Celtic on Wednesday but we left him out.
“There is still time to win a place in the squad and the players are putting markers down for the opening league game now.”
