Selby Town 0, Bradford Park Avenue 4

A late flurry helped Avenue through a tricky West Riding County Cup second-round tie at Selby Town tonight.

Despite the wintery conditions, the pitch was in good condition and it produced a very good game.

The only goal of the first half was scored by Roy Stamer with rare header.

It was 75 minutes into the game before Luke Gibson added the second with a shot.

Two goals in as many minutes by Luke Holden put a gloss on the victory but meant the scoreline did not reflect the contest.

Avenue director Kevin Hainsworth said: “It was a good performance by us against a very good side.

"Selby are second in the Northern Counties East League Premier Division and they made it difficult for us on their own pitch.

"It was hard work right up until the last ten minutes when those goals flew in.”
