Nab Wood have become one of the last schools to receive an FA Charter Standard Schools’ award as the honour has been discontinued.
The school, who were chosen for their contribution to girls’ football, picked up their pennant at the West Riding County Football Association’s presentation evening.
Nab Wood were chosen for their proactive approach to girls’ football from Year Seven right through to Year 12 and for the school-club links they have forged with Shipley Juniors and Nab Wood junior football clubs.
In addition, the county body were impressed by the visit of Leeds United Ladies and England international Sue Smith to the school for coaching and a question and answer session.
