James Dennison capped a storming display up front for Vision under-11s with two goals in a 4-1 HUDDESFIELD LEAGUE derby victory over Wyke Wanderers.
Former Vision player Michael Brooksbank created a few problems for his old side, including cancelling out Dennison’s opener, but man of the match Danny Patchett kept him largely in check.
Otherwise it was mainly one-way traffic, particularly in a wind-assisted second half, as James Morris and a Callum Docherty penalty completed the scoring. Vision even had the luxury of seeing a second penalty saved.
Vision under-nines edged the honours in their derby against Wyke.
The B team won 3-0 with two goals from Ben King and one by McKenzie Taylor, while Alfie Morgan was named man of the match.
But the A side needed a last-minute penalty from man of the match Kieron Baker to earn a 2-2 draw, with credit to both sides for an excellent game.
Captain Tyrone Sagar scored twice as Vision’s under-10s A team won 4-2 at Drighlington. The other goals came from Conner Thompson and man of the match Ellis Barrowclough.
Gage Faulkner’s hat-trick secured the man-of-the-match honours as Bradford United under-12s won 4-0 at Norristhorpe.
Ryan Craven’s good pass set up Josh Finan for the opener and then Faulkner took over, although he was aided by a solid team performance.
United had mixed fortunes elsewhere as their under-17s drew 1-1 against Liversedge thanks to an Isaac Nash goal, while the under-18s lost 2-0 to Howden Clough despite the best efforts of Robert Winn.
