Brown hat-trick a boost for Eagles

10:46am Tuesday 28th October 2008

Aaron Brown was the hat-trick hero as Eccleshill United’s under-10 Eagles brushed aside Pool Pumas 4-0 in the KEYBURY LEAGUE.

Captain Tom Storey completed the tally, with Niall Brame named man of the match.

Eccleshill United’s under-10 Falcons were not so impressive, going down by a similar 4-0 outcome to Pool.

Oliver Kirk-Patrick was another player to bag a hat-trick as Westwood Jets under-eights romped to a 7-0 win over Stanningley A.

Ellis Wade was man of the match for the Jets, who also had RT (2), Luke Stoyle and Declan Wilkinson on target.

Joe Lewyckyj and Lee Hampson shared half the goals as Idle Juniors under-eights continued their winning ways by seeing off Campion 8-0.

Jack Burnell, Rhys Cunningham, Joshua Nunney and Leo Payne backed up the doubles from Lewyckyj and Hampson.

Joshua Barrett and Lewis Collett struck two goals apiece as Thackley Thunder under-eights won 4-0 at Gomersal.

Thackley’s under-nines had to settle for a 2-2 draw against Keighley Shamrocks, with Joshua Debenham grabbing the equaliser after Baily Chin had opened the scoring.

BD3 United under-13s were forced to hang on as they edged out CRAVEN, AIRE & WHARFE LEAGUE local rivals Idle 4-3 having been three goals up at the interval.

First-half strikes from Mohammad Israr, Sami Younis and Shabaz Ali left United 3-0 up but Idle pulled back to 3-2 with a strong wind behind them.

Israr’s second goal of the game on the counter-attack gave United breathing space and although Idle scored again, it was not enough to gain any reward.

Hamza Mohammad secured the man-of-the-match honours.

Long Lee’s last-minute winner punctured Bradford Tigers under-12s’ 100 per cent record.

The visitors were hungrier and passed the ball better on a heavy pitch but Tigers rallied from 2-0 down with goals from Jordan Kitching and William Gilroy and the commanding display by centre back James Townend deserved more than a defeat.

Jack Dowd, Jordan Atkins and Jamie Bullas netted for Long Lee, whose keeper Harry Taylor made a crucial save at the feet of Gilroy. Defender Bretton Kissack was Long Lee’s man of the match.

Matthew Wright was a commanding force in midfield as Bradford Park Avenue under-17s kept up their winning ways in the HUDDERSFIELD LEAGUE with a fine 5-1 win over Dodworth.

Goals came from Liam Hartley (2), John Fortune, Liam Stuart and Michael Hegarty, while Wright was man of the match and keeper Sam Cronin also excelled.

Debutants Ash Brown and Rajan Vohra were both on target as Bradford United under-17s won 6-3 at Kirkheaton.

Jamie Taylor and Ben Bodle made up the tally with two goals apiece as United moved third in the table.

Sophie Woodrup doubled up for Park Avenue under-14s as they won 4-2 at Tingley Athletic to move second in the WEST RIDING GIRLS LEAGUE.

Stacey Burnett and Alice Philpott added to Woodrup’s goals, while Lauren Burnett was player of the match as Avenue responded well to their previous week’s thrashing.
