City of Bradford’s Under-11 Sportshall Athletics trials will be held at the Richard Dunn Sports Centre on Saturday, December 6 (2.30).
The aim is to select 12 boys and 12 girls to represent Bradford in the Yorkshire Fun In Athletics.
Primary schools within the city’s five School Sports Partnerships have already been competing in inter-school events to whittle down the numbers.
But schools are encouraged to send their best six of either sex from Years Five and Six.
Individuals can also apply if they are not coming with a school, and promising Year Four pupils can also enter, although they will not qualify for a team place.
The trials will consist of sprinting, over or under obstacle trials, standing long jump, standing triple jump, vertical jump, chest push, target throw, soft javelin and, in the agility section, speed bounce, balance test and the Hi-Stepper challenge – a new event.
Full instructions on these events can be found at www.Sportshall.org.uk and entry forms are available at: www.Bingleyharriers.org.uk or by contacting Alan Oates on 01274-416286.
