Jamie Nicholls handled the pressure like a veteran at the British Snow Tour Invitational Championships at London Olympia.
Firstly, the 15-year-old from Queensbury (pictured below at the event) had to qualify for the finals.
Also through to the semi-finals were Gary Greenshields, Jack Shackleton and Nicholls’ Halifax rival Andy Nudds.
MC James Thorne whipped the audience into a frenzy as the riders performed huge 720s (two complete revolutions) and crowd-pleasing backflips as the riders qualified.
Nudds, 18, landed a massive front-side 720 to eliminate Greenshields in the first semi-final, and Team GB rider Shackleton landed a sweet rodeo 540 to put the spotlight on Nicholls.
However, Nicholls pulled out a big 900 to take the other final berth.
With the spectators doing a giant Mexican wave in a gesture of appreciation, the West Yorkshire duo pulled out all the stops in the decider.
Nudds crashed out attempting a 900 rotation attempt but Nicholls then landed a huge textbook 900.
Afterwards Nicholls said: “That was amazing. The standard was really high and I’m really pleased I landed my nine in the final.”
