Matt Farrar’s length-of-the-field try was the highlight of Baildon Colts’ 21-5 victory at Wath.
Baildon, whose ferocious tackling and counter-rucking caused a Wath player to be sin-binned for throwing punches, took the lead following a line-out.
The ball was spun out for James Morton to join the line from full back and cross unopposed under the sticks, Rob Moore converting.
Baildon, via Moore’s pin-point kicks, continued to press but only had a 7-5 half-time lead to show for it.
Centres Tom Christie and Craig Richards tackled Wath to a standstill and Farrar’s score at last gave Baildon reward, Moore converting.
Morton then found space 30 yards out to go over, Moore again converting.
