It’s lasted longer than John Sergeant in Strictly – if only the judging patterns had been the same.
Then the Rugby League World Cup might not be the two-bob, two-team endless dragathon that this column said it would be.
At least if the Strictly viewers could have done their worst on the phone lines, we might be watching Fiji or Ireland again in the final. Instead it’s New Zealand and Australia, surprise, surprise.
And no doubt the Aussies will be crowned champions for the seventh time in row. You get more shock results in a reality dancing contest – and at least you don’t know the winner way before it has started.
