Charity cashes in

A charity match at Undercliffe, arranged as part of Dave Magson’s 50th birthday celebrations, has raised £1,800.

Of that, £1,000 will go to the British Heart Foundation and £800 to Help The Hospices – the nominated charity for Carlsberg Tetley (Leeds).

“It’s beyond my wildest dreams,” said Magson, who captained an Eccleshill XI against Undercliffe Cavaliers.

“I only expected to raise about £200.”
