Yorkshire’s batsmen have been looking for quick runs on the final morning of the County Championship match against Lancashire at Old Trafford today.
The visitors have reached 355 for five at lunch, and lead by 124. They are expected to declare sooner rather than later, if not at lunch, to leave Lancashire’s batsmen sweating on gaining a draw.
Yorkshire, who resumed on 234 for two this morning, added another 121 runs in 33 overs. Andrew Gale finished with 136 from 328 balls, while Jacques Rudolph added 54 off 77 balls.
Francois Du Plessis has three wickets, two of them this morning, while Gary Keedy also got one. Du Plessis ran out Adam Lyth.
