Yorkshire have confirmed that they will be defending their Pro Arch Trophy title in the United Arab Emirates in March as they prepare for the 2009 season.
The Tykes will head out to Abu Dhabi on March 17-25 to compete along with the likes Lancashire, Sussex, Essex, Surrey, Middlesex, the UAE national side and an Emirates All Star XI, although these teams have yet to be officially confirmed.
The competition will be played under Friends Provident Trophy rules, with games taking place in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah.
Yorkshire chief executive Stewart Regan said: “We are looking forward to spending another pre-season in the UAE, and I’m sure the team will be keen to defend their Pro Arch title.
“Last season’s successful tour provided us with an exceptional foundation to take into the domestic season.
“The practice facilities and guaranteed weather make it an excellent place to get ready for the summer ahead.
“Our one-day performances, in particular, definitely benefited from our Abu Dhabi preparation in 2008.”
