Paul Heckingbottom column: We know there will be ups and downs this season but it has been great to get back on track with two wins and we’re looking to continue that on Saturday.

I thought the crowd were excellent on Tuesday against Bury. They were very patient and it helped the lads.

I think they are realising that teams are coming just to frustrate us and if the crowd are getting impatient it can transfer onto the pitch.

But that was not the case on Tuesday and I thought we tried to look for that extra pass rather than just lump it forward.

Barnet is a good chance to continue our run but it is also a potential banana skin and we all know about those. We have been a bit of a coupon-buster in the past.

It’s a big blow to lose Joe Colbeck to a broken ankle. He rang me up to tell me the news and I told him that breaks can be better in terms of healing than ligament damage.

Chris Brandon had that type of injury and he had to have full reconstruction surgery on his ankle.

Hopefully Joe will be back 100 per-cent fit in the new year. After going out on loan to Darlington and then winning the player of the year, he has just carried on where he left off and has learned a lot over the last year and has been improving all the time.

I am hoping to be back in full training myself on Monday, having had a scan and a steroid injection in the top of my hamstring this week.

I’ve only missed a week’s training so hopefully it won’t take me long to get back up to speed.

I’ve been quite fortunate with injuries over the last three or four years so touch wood that continues.

It’s good to see Nicky Law back with us. He’s been frustrated at not getting a chance at Sheffield United and he enjoyed it here last time. Hopefully we can be a good platform for him.

He is very comfortable on the ball, is a good passer and has good quality. Although he is not a player like Joe or Omar Daley, he is deceptively quick.
