Admission prices have been reduced for City’s FA Cup second-round clash with Leyton Orient next Saturday.

Tickets are now on sale for unreserved seating for home fans in the Sunwin and Carlsberg Stands priced £15 adults, £10 senior citizens and £5 juveniles.

Tickets for the Bantams Bar will be on sale on a first come, first served basis with a £5 extra day membership.

Orient supporters will be housed in the Midland Road Stand.

Finally the report comes through from Simon Parker. This was first published on the official website on Wednesday evening.

However, on the official website, it initially reported that away fans would be housed in the TL Dallas stand, only for it to be later changed to say they would be seated in Midland Road. The above report still says Leyton Orient will be in the TL Dallas end...?

If this is the case, I fear we have made a big gaff. Due to the small stand, the acoustics are excellent and a large noise can be made (and is by City fans). Why are we giving this advantage to our opponents?

Can someone at the T&A and Bradford City kindly comment.

There are no clues on the Orient official website- no mention of FA cup tickets.
Surrendering the T L Dallas could affect the attendance.
Does Simon Parker read these comments?

I have had an emailed response from the club to confirm Leyton Orient are to be housed in the Midland Road stand and that no fans will be in the TL Dallas section for that game. The ball boys may be kept busy then!

I just don't understand why we are taking away our best chance of creating a good atmosphere. The fact is, on match days, that is where most of the noise comes from. In the past, most of the regular attenders stay away on cup match day (unless a plum tie is given). As attendance will be far less than that of league matches, I would have thought we would try to house City fans in that end of the ground. Perhaps move fans from Midland Road or the top tier of the Sunwin stands?

Further response received from Bradford City;

"As is usual policy when a smaller than usual attendance is anticipated, we have to try and keep costs down and to this end not all of the stadium is being opened".

A rather blinkered viewpoint don't you think? We are proposing to open 3 sides of the ground, why not re-house Midland Road fans for this game? The away fans could go in Block A of the Sunwin stand and home fans anywhere else available. I would also close the top tier of the Sunwin. Not too difficult to keep costs down surely?

Jacko, Queensbury says...

Can understand not opening Dallas stand to keep costs down because I dont think we will attract above 6,000. At £15 per adult, not much of a reward for the reglar 12,000

Yes, but my point being that surely costs would be lowered more if we closed Midland Road down instead. Less staff needed for policing/stewarding/
catering etc.

City wanted to reward their fans and asked for prices of £10 adult and £5 concessions. Leyton Orient refused and so we had to ask the FA to intervene. They have set the prices for this game, not City.

This was another reason I think we should have housed their fans elsewhere in the ground. If Orient wanted to keep prices down to prevent a better atmosphere, why give them the away end where the best atmosphere is created?

KnightMcCall, East Morton says...

Some good points but you can't suggest that the ball boys will be busy if the Dallas stand is empty and then suggest closing Midland Road!!

I would however have thought that the TL Dallas Stand is more beneficial than the Kop so close the Kop for the game or at least the top tier of it.

Very blinkered thinking of orient to disallow lower prices. I think £15 is just asking too much given the proximity of xmas and the growing unemployment. £10 would probably attract enough fans to generate more revenue than charging £15 will. How ridiculously bureaucratic. We had better make sure that we win!!

If the club are that concerned about costs, and let's face it when are't they, can someone explain to me why every night for the last few weeks the low level lighting at the back of the East Stand (Midland Rd) is always on. Surely this is unecessary expenditure and also not very 'green'.
And if Orient refused the £10 ticket jobby they have cost theirselves a fair bit of cash I would say, I'd have expected a 10,000 + crowd at £10 per ticket, I'll bet it doesn't get much over 7K now. Ok 7,000 x 15 is greater than 10,000 x 10 but the 10,000 could easily push up to 12 or more whereas the tight wad city fans won't pay extra for a cup match so 7K is maybe even a high estimate.

Orient have assessed a higher home attendance, based on our normal home attendances. At £15.00 per Adult, they expect to achieve a better percentage of the gate receipts.(1/3 to City, 1/3 to Orient and 1/3 to the FA). They do not expect many supporters to travel from Orient to Bradford, and pay a £15.00 entrance fee. City have assessed this expected attendance, and are reducing overhead costs on the same basis.
I wonder what both clubs assessments would have been, if the match was to be Televised Live!?.( What is the TV revenues I wonder?)

If we are to win this match, or can we EXPECT to win this match, with the decisions Citys' 'Board' have taken. Then the third round possibility of drawing a Premier Club at Home, seems more and more remote: in their assessment of the costs involved, and the closure of the T L Dallas Stand (Bradford End).
It looks ridiculous on TV when City score at that end, to an empty stand. The players have been responding well to home support in the Bradford End, and scoring well at that end too!.
WHAT ARE THE CITY 'BOARD' THINKING ABOUT?.DON'T THEY WANT CITY TO WIN THIS MATCH?.
"lack-pull" Hmmmmm.!!!

The part about the ball boys being busy was a joke.

I got a third response from the club this afternoon that makes even more interesting reading;

It basically said that we couldn't put the away fans in Block A of the Sunwin Stand as the security certificate wouldn't allow it because it isn't covered. That is why City fans can't sit there and instead we have giant flags/banners on display.

However, if we get a chance of full capacity, we ARE allowed to use it.

I just think we could have kept everyone happy. Fans would be happier being in the TL Dallas stand, players would respond better to the increased noise-levels and we can keep costs down better if we close Midland Road instead.

Just my opinion.

See you all at Don Valley tomorrow. I will be the one wearing a claret and amber football shirt!

Waynus will be the one holding the laptop, so he can get the match report in on time!

Seriously though it'll be interesting to see what team McCall puts out 2moro. There's been a lot of talk about putting young Osborne in, but will McCall trust him to do his defensive duties, in tracking back to help Moncur against Rhodes.

I also think it'd be a bit harsh to drop Conlon and bring in Boulding after recent performances. With this in mind I wouldn't be surprised to see an unchanged team.

I know the stands are about 1/2 a mile away from the pitch at the Don Valley, but one thing I won't miss from the old ground, is what seemed like the neverending walk in single file out of the stadium.

Some happy memories at Milmoor though, I remember the late Robbie James getting a 30 yard screamer one year. Ah those were the days, those who think Barry Conlon is pants, should've seen Mike Duxbury and Gordon Cowans.

Oh, you are so last year. I will be holding my 'blackberry' and no that isn't a nickname for my nether regions! LOL

I know what you are saying about Ossie. However, he is a young lad and they tend to do whatever they are told. It's usually the older professionals who pretend they can't hear once they are out on the pitch. If McCall tells Ossie to track back and help TJ out, I am sure he will, especially as his contract is up soon too!

I agree it would be harsh to see Conlon dropped for Boulding. However, reports coming out of VP tonight is that McCall is considering playing all three tomorrow. Does that mean Daley on the right and Boulding left??

Tommorrow?? What am I talking about.. it is tomorrow. Goodnight!

I hope 1500 city fans aren't wearing a claret and amber top as that will mean I have ended up in Motherwell by mistake. City have only sold between 800 to 1000.

If Boulding plays on the left then he certainly won't be tracking back, if the Barnet game is anything to go by.

I don't care what team he plays as long as we win. I know there is a degree of cynicism in some of my posts, but nothing would give me greater pleasure in seeing City being successful. Indeed it'd be great to see these message boards quiet until the end of the season, as it would mean we've got promotion.

I will put together a report, but in the meantime...

Osborne was worse than useless. McCall played him on the left and he was crap. No, I am not being over-critical, he really was that bad. O'Brien showed him how to get forward. He was the best player on the park even before his goal.

The strikers again didn't get into the game. To be fair, they would have had to have gone back to defend had they wanted the ball! However, in the second half, O'Brien played a brilliant through ball to Boulding and he should have finished. It was the type of chance he burried last season.

I can't believe you think that of me. Opinionated?? Yes, I state my opinion and back it up with facts to support my case. However, I do (and have) hold my hands up when I am wrong, contrary to public opinion.

As an example, last season there was a couple of fans saying Matt Clarke shouldn't be in the team because he was crap. I disagreed. Now, this season, I see exactly where they were coming from.

I defended McLaren for the first two months of the season, but then realised that I was wrong and quite a few of you out there were right. I said so at the time too.

Having said all that, it's your own opinion and that's what this is all about. Personally, I think I am more 'objective' than 'opinionated'.

The price for the cup match on Saturday is £10 for students (all concessions).

My identity has been changed numerous times, so what?
You went back to being WAYNUS after you had been axed, when you (using a jumbled collection of numbers and letters as a title) were sussed out by several regular contributors who remarked on it at the time. But again i say "so what", whatever your denials or attempts at changing the subject my (and it appears some others) opinion on your posts wont change.
I almost used the "S" word again, but some people have become bored with it, much like some posts on here eh?

Are you a politician as I notice you deliberately side-stepped my question. Just in case you missed it, I will repeat.

If you don't 'give a stuff', why did you change your identity?? I don't need to know what I did, I already know that. As you will remember, I got some unnecessary abuse by trying to defend another poster (Ali Capone, I think) and that is why I changed my name. However, the question still stands, why did you change yours?

The fact is, I am passionate about my team (don't know if you are actually a supporter, or just come on here to post comments) and I post how I feel. Most of the time, I believe my opinions are valid and try to back up my argument with facts. I won't always be right in my views, but I hold my hands up when I am wrong.

How many of the people you agree with (we both know who I mean) come on here and admit when they are wrong? You included.

would it not have been a better move to sell the tickets at full price with a voucher: the voucher giving preference after season ticket holders to the next round: if we win and draw a big club at home you can bet there will be 22000 real supporters turn up!!!!!!!!!!!

I changed my identity because i have been axed several times, mainly for my forthright views on religion, crime and politics, its no secret and i thought you were well aware of it (or do you get some sort of thrill out of seeing it in print).
Your comments about changing your own identity are a complete fabrication, i remember debating the fact that you had your link severed and you had to re-register under a different name (yes that was me under a different ID ).
I have been to matches all over the UK but these days my health and age plus other commitments make such visits a rarity.
Have i sidestepped anything?
