Bulls star Sam Burgess has penned an open letter to fans urging them to follow his lead by committing to the club.

The home-grown England international is the face of Bradford’s 2009 season-ticket drive, which is launched today.

I’ve committed myself to the Bulls because I believe we have everything in place to be challenging for honours and now you can show your commitment too with our new season-ticket packages

Sam Burgess

General admission prices have gone up but Super League sensation Burgess – who recently penned a new long-term deal at Grattan Stadium – believes supporters will get great value given the direction in which the club is heading.

And in the letter that will drop through fans’ letterboxes later this week, the big Bulls favourite writes about his excitement over the club’s future.

He says: “Thank you for your continued support throughout Super League XIII.

“The club is delighted to have been awarded a license to compete in the engage Super League and I’m excited to have re-signed with the Bulls for the next three years.

“With highly talented young players coming through the system and massive signings including Steve Menzies adding their own flair, it is a very exciting time for the club. Our plans are starting to come together.

“I’ve committed myself to the Bulls because I believe we have everything in place to be challenging for honours and now you can show your commitment too with our new season-ticket packages.

“I think you’ll agree we have put together the best value package yet and hope you will be able to join the Bulls season-ticket family in 2009.”

Although Bradford are desperate to arrest falling attendances, matchday ground admission will rise for the first time in two years, increasing from £15 to £17 for adults, with concessions also going up by the same amount to £10.

However, the club has included some new bonuses in its season-ticket rates, with free entry into the Bulls’ 2009 Carnegie Challenge Cup fourth round fixture – even if it is an away draw.

Season-ticket holders will also receive 50 per cent off a ticket for The Magic Weekend in Edinburgh, while adults buying their terrace season ticket before Friday, December 19 will get 13 Super League games for the price of nine – concessions doing so for the cost of just eight.

More than £100 can be saved by purchasing a terrace season ticket, while the club is also taking into account the ‘credit crunch’ by offering a new ‘spread the cost’ service over five months. The early-bird discount ends on December 19.

More details by contacting the ticket office on 08448-711490 (option 1).

Even in a season of disapppointing form a season ticket for the Bulls is excellent value. I think I paid £160 or so to sit in the main stand this season and for that we get 13 SL matches, the best sport available and by no means expensive.

My season ticket is a guaranteed renewal. Even if we finish bottom.

C'mon you Bulls.

Great value and despite some poor performances this season I've enjoyed it as much ever.

Come on SAM
Come on You Bulls
And come on you Bulls fans who sit watching Eastenders omnibus editions on Sunday afternoon and wonder why you're so depressed and can't stop thinking you're missus is carrying with your Dad. Get behind the lads and everything will seem so much better.

We are all with you Sam and the Bulls and even though we have had an up and down season we still average more than Saints! We need another 2 or 3 thousand fans at each home game, build up the atmosphere and make Odsal a fortress again!

Interested who the 'massive signings' are, think it should say 'massive signing'!!!

Sam is a great example both on and off the field. When results drop off, any team will see gates fall, but I like the way Sam has confirmed the Bulls are putting in place a team that can challenge for honours.
He knows as well as anybody what the plans are and yes Gumshoe, I do think he said "signings" Sounds like Moimoi and Menzies plus Scruton and could be a back or two.
Bulls will also be able to call on Morrison and a fit again Toupou which will be like having two additional new players next term.
Hey I may buy a season ticket myself.
COME ON YOU BULLS.!!!!!!!!!!!

I agree Haitch, having all the squad back to full fitness and available will be cracking. Having Morrison and Tupou fit will indeed seem like 2 more new players and Luke Burgess also still linked but also the batch of young guys coming through the academy will also give us a few more to choose from, hope there are a couple of decent half backs amongst them or has Macca got an ace up his sleeve in relation to that position?????
Come on you Bulls

I think we need quality cover at S/H
Jeffers and Menzies will cover S/O if required.

dont need to sign any hover at HB, there's plenty who can play there.

BBARL6, Bradford says...

Who else can play half back apart from Deacon, and Jefferies??? and play it well?? Dont come back with Morro or Menzies, they are both back rowers who could fill in at half back but then that weakens the back row. The Bulls have been screaming out for years now for a quality half back. If the Bulls want to win things they need to sign a play maker at either 6 or 7.

Sorry to disagree. There are few if any in S/L will play No6 better than Menzies.

Menzies scoring tries for fun down under, hope he can keep up the run when he gets to Odsal!

All the Rooney rumours seem to have died down which is not a bad thing as heard he is a problem at Wakey!

Heard another rumour about Talau from saints as well, thoughts???

I HATE Talau.
But only because he plays for Saints.
The man is fast strong and hard and we want him to come to Bulls..Please!!

Would be a waste if he goes to Widnes or Salford Haitch!

They are the clubs linked to him Haitch, reckon he has a couple more seasons in SL left in him yet! Would prob link well with Semi and Sol????

He's pretty much the complete centre. These guys are great for a season or two just to bring on the next generation. We have nothing on our books comes even close to him IMO. Would be good addition to our squad.

Being Cover is not about playing it well, its about being sufficient enough to do a job whilst your first choice player is out.

There is a shed load of players thatcould cover it.

Sykes
Morrison
Menzies
Hyde
Carlisle
Godwin

I agree though we do need a genuine 6 that oozes class because Jeffries isnt good enough really, but he will be the 6 next year, so we dont need to go out and purchase another when we have all the above who could easily cover 6 and some 7

haitch, Lincolnshire says...
5:13pm Wed 20 Aug 08

Good point Mickster. What stops Jeff's being good enough IMO is that he can't play 80 mins. He can look great in glimpses but needs to be far more involved. We do however really struggle at 7 if Deaks is out and that is our weakest area for lack of cover. Maybe a "past it" Shaun Long? lol.

Any team can ' challenge for results ' it's winning that counts ! The business(club) should have reduced prices , to encourage more customers(fans) through the gates .

the season tickets are fantastic value for money, i went to see arsenal play liverpool with a friend last season and the seat price behind the goal cost me £70. sundays arnt the same without a rugby match to go to, its such a long time when the season ends till it starts again. and before you know it its over again!

the bulls will finish bootom of super league within next two years if macca stays

Well I will be buying my usual 3, they make an ideal gift for bulls supporters at christmas. I have been giving my kids season tickets now for the past 15 years, Good value although I would like to see reduced addmission by all teams to FULL season ticket holders when you play away say £10 providing its purchased from you own club and only 1 per season ticket, that could mean a larger following by visiting teams

Codswallop. The Bulls will be up there again and certainly no lower than this year. Why are people so fickle and negative? What is the point? And why get so wound up over losing a few more matches than we're used to? To me that is not what being a supporter is about. You no shows suit yourselves but us true fans will be right there, thick and thin!

Macca needs another season at the helm and if things aren't right then imo it is time for him to go. He is building the squad nicely with experience and youth now he just needs to get them to play together as a team. Andy J there is the amateur game all through the winter. True honest players not being payed a good wage turning up on a sayturday

i think i will wait and see what the fixture list is like, i work shifts so can't get to all games, if i can get to the majority then i will be buying mine.
well said micksey, real supporters don't desert when a bad season befalls the team. some so called supporters that haven't been around for long ought to read some of the books on the history of bradford northern/bulls, it makes very interesting reading.
no one team will dominate all the time, we've had our spell, it's someone elses at the moment but i'm sure that our time will come again soon. even if it doesn't i'll support them through thick and thin cause i'm proud to be a bradford supporter.

You aint going to get the 'glory supporter through the gates for some
time yet regardless of the new season ticket deals. We still get a few youngsters through the gates who are generaly bored stupid before kick off. Invest in prematch entertainment aimed at the youngsters...they'll tell their mates...get my drift. The club get their investment back (pluss some)!

...I get as many games in as possible when i'm in the UK, I was at the Leeds game at Odsal last August, it was bloody freezing.
