Tupou backing Kiwis to cause upset

Tame Tupou feels New Zealand shouldn’t be written off in tomorrow’s World Cup final.

The Bulls winger will be watching his former Kiwi team-mates from afar as he increases his club training after a knee reconstruction.

They are rank outsiders against champions Australia in Brisbane but Tupou believes they can upset the odds.

“I’m a lot more confident with this Kiwi team than some of the past sides we’ve had against Australia,” he said.

“Especially with Wayne Bennett now being involved on the coaching staff as well. He will know any Aussie weak spots and I’m sure a lot of our younger Kiwi guys won’t have any fear of losing.

“They’ll bring plenty of excitement too and if New Zealand can limit mistakes shown in the semi I think they’ll do well.”

Tupou, 26, was coached by the legendary Bennett during his own time in Brisbane with the Broncos.

Ruthless Australia are clear favourites having thrashed Fiji 52-0 in their semi and eased past New Zealand in the pool stages.

But Tupou – who won the last of his four caps on their ill-fated tour of Great Britain and France last autumn – expects a tighter contest in the rematch.

“Issac Luke’s playing great, Bronson Harrison will bring a lot to the game while Benji Marshall has always got something up his sleeve,” he said.

“It’ll be real tough but I think they will go well.

“It’s just been really frustrating for me watching some of the games knowing I could have been involved in a World Cup.”

Mick you really must get something done about that stammer!!

Shaun does enjoy calling people "dross"
Funny, Mickster also called Aussie imports "dross" yesterday.

Using phrases like that against a fellow human being says more about THEM than the people they try to demean

Sorry about the stammer, but its a good impersonation of a well known pop idol that has been known to appear for Bulls & kick off. I hope one of the aussies flattens that cheat called Luke

Shaun is Mickster's wife, angrily scuttling about a scuzzy old kitchen getting her husband's tea ready in case he comes in angry from a day shovelling/ talking
sh!te and beats her again. Pity them for they have dreadful lives.

I thought there was an echo coming from mick de bull!!!

Tupou I am afraid is in dream land, the Kiwis have no chance, 2 reasons, the kiwi team is a young inexperienced team missing the likes of Webb and Wiki, secondly the aussie team is outstanding across the park and even onto the bench.

Do wish he would stop harping on about Wayne Bennett!!

Hi Gumshoe, Maybe best to leave predictions to Shaun and Mickster mate? At least, as expected, you admit you got it wrong, which is why you are a cut above!
