Jamie Langley column

It’s good to see my old travelling partner Paul Anderson doing so well in the coaching game.

We all know what Baloo did as a player with the Bulls and he’s now taken that on in his new role at Huddersfield.

He’s got the Giants playing a style of rugby that seems to be working well for them and it’s no surprise.

It’s hard to believe considering he was this big, barnstorming prop but he is actually a very knowledgeable bloke.

He’s one of those sorts of guys who’s got the brain of a half-back but in the body of a giant, hulking front-rower! Baloo’s really smart and seems to come across just as well as a coach as he did as a player.

I hope he goes on to bigger and better things now he has found his next career path – just not on Sunday.

That’s when we go to Huddersfield for another big local derby and we know just what they’ll throw at us.

They are always tough and physical but we’re playing with confidence again ourselves at Bradford and that’s the main thing for us.

The confidence is back and we need it to carry on at the Galpharm.

We’ve picked up two points twice in the last fortnight and we’ve done so without even playing to our best. That’s a good sign.

There’s a hell of a lot to improve on – we know that – but we’re moving forward and will look to get even better against Huddersfield.

There’s a few antics been going down here over the past week or two.

Wayne Godwin lost his bag, only to find it turning up later in the freezer with everything – his mobile, his flip-flops – frozen solid.

Then someone found some fake tan in Koppy’s bag and decided it’d be funny to swap it for Deep Heat.

Let’s just say Koppy got more than he bargained for and was a little redder than anticipated when he started applying!
