The big social talking point this week is Paul Deacon’s Ladies’ Night testimonial, which is on August 9.

The lads are getting their diets in order and getting themselves ready for it, trying to get rid of their bellies – if they have them.

Wayne Godwin has been talking all year about having his head shaved – some of the lads did it while we were in Lanzarote – and he is the vainest man in the world.

But we have taken the ball out of his court and booked him in for a live head-shaving that night. It’s a live auction, so bring your money ladies and whoever is the highest bidder will get to shave Wayne’s head on stage, so that is going to be a highlight.

We have looked back at the Warrington game and it was an entertaining end-to-end affair. We felt we competed well for most of it but it was just our unforced errors that cost us.

On Sunday we have Wakefield, which is always a big game but particularly as we are so close in the table.

Apart from the two points being at stake, they will be looking for a good performance to take them into their Challenge Cup semi-final next weekend, so there is plenty to play for in front of our own fans bearing in mind that we need a win as much as anyone.

It has all the makings of a great game but Wakefield won’t entirely be able to put the cup semi-final out of their minds – as they haven’t in the games leading up to this.

It’s just the excitement of playing in a semi-final. You can’t hide it as you are looking forward to it that much but they won’t be holding anything back.

They’ll be coming all guns blazing as they will be playing for their places and we will have to match them.

Finally, good luck to the six Bulls lads who have gone on the Academy tour to Australia. It’s great experience for them and it is only going to improve them as players being in that different environment.

They will do well but they will also learn a lot about themselves.
