Two housekeepers who worked at David and Victoria Beckham's Hertfordshire mansion have been arrested for allegedly selling their stolen possessions online, it is reported.
Police confirmed that a 56-year-old woman and a 55-year-old man, both from Essex, were arrested in relation to a theft from a private property in the area.
Press reports said items belonging to former England football captain David Beckham and his pop singer wife were taken from their Rowneybury House mansion and then sold on internet auction website eBay to the highest bidders.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Police said: "Police are currently investigating an allegation of theft from a private address in Hertfordshire.
"The theft was reported to police on October 10.
"The two people arrested in connection with this incident are currently on police bail."
"They are due to return to Hoddesdon police station on November 22."
A spokesman for eBay said: "We are working with Hertfordshire Police to establish the facts surrounding this alleged theft.
"If it transpires that our site was being used to list stolen goods then we will work with the police to press for the harshest penalties."
