Wales scrum-half Dwayne Peel expects to be fit to make his Sale debut next month.
The 26-year-old was expected to be out until the end of the year following shoulder surgery, but he is now targeting a return to action in the August friendly against Leeds.
Peel, who signed a three-year contract with the Sharks in January after deciding to leave Llanelli Scarlets, said: "I can see light at the end of the tunnel and I'll be fit for the start of the season. There was doubt but surgery and rehab have gone well."
Talking about the forthcoming season, he added: "All I want is an injury-free season for club and country."
